Things to Know About a Same Day PassportApplying for a passport can take at least 4 to 6 weeks for normal processing, and can take more time depending on the workload. It is always good to apply well in advance of any planned international trip.
But what if you need a passport same day? There are many reasons that you may require a passport in same day such as
- Unexpected Business Trips
- Family, friend, or Health Emergencies
- Sheer Forgetfulness
- Unplanned trip
If you need a passport on a same day, the best option is to find a private expediting company that has experience in processing passport applications. You still have to pay the government fees for your passport, but in addition to that you need to pay extra fees for an expedited passport.
An expediting company works with the U.S. Passport Agency and foreign consulates to get US passports and visas for those who depart on short notice. When you receive your passport from a passport expeditor, you will still need to fill in all the required documents such as signing the forms. But once you have sent your passport off to the expediting company you do not have to wait in a long queue to get it. Expediting company does everything so you only have to relax and wait for your new US passport to arrive through your door.
Same day passport requires the same documents needed for all passport applications. Birth certificates, marriage license, divorce papers, and photo identification are necessary. Generally, two passport photos that match the required dimensions must be included. In some cases, a health certificate, immunizations records, an itinerary, financial stability proof and a letter from your employer can also be required.
Now that you know how to get a passport in a same day, why not just go and apply for a passport right now. A US passport is valid for ten years for ages of 16 and up - only 5 years for those under 16. Same day passports are not cheap but they are available if you need them. If the situation demands a same day passport, the price will be worth being able to leave the country in a correct time.
